Theodor "Theo" Apke - Licensed Massage Therapist
Owner of South Loop Massage, Theo graduated from the Pacific College of Health and Science, earning his state license and certification in Asian bodywork.
Clinically trained in Swedish, deep tissue, and sports massage, he also incorporates traditional Chinese medicine, Tui Na, acupoint therapy, hot stone therapy, cupping, and Gua Sha.
Theo specializes in pain management and recovery, utilizing a diverse range of techniques to address your body's needs comprehensively. His approach includes effleurage, petrissage, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation.
Theo's Journey to Central America
On January 6th, 2020, Theo landed in San Jose, Costa Rica, to spend two months coaching flying trapeze at Airborne Arts. With a background in acrobatics, Theo has developed many skills related sports recovery therapy, such as passive and dynamic stretching techniques and assisted reciprocal inhibition.
Due to the pandemic, in mid-March, Theo's flight to return to the United States in April was canceled (seven times!). He took the opportunity to stay until July to study bodywork and holistic healing arts.
A serendipitous opportunity provided him with inspiration and the chance to participate in health and wellness workshops, focusing on massage therapy, breathwork, meditation, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation.
Upon his return, he successfully completed a 12-month massage licensing program at Pacific College of Health and Science, ultimately bringing him to you!
